Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Support and Reduction (San Diego)

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (or SIDS) is the fourth leading cause of infant mortality in California, and takes the lives of thousands of children worldwide every year. The exact causes of SIDS remain unknown, leaving parents, families, and caretakers to grieve without having the answers they need to get past the loss of a young child and move forward with their lives.

The San Diego Guild for Infant Survival works to comfort those who have been affected by SIDS, offer education and SIDS risk reduction tips to the public, and provide online and offline links to support and resources.

If you have lost a child to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, it's important to remember that you aren't alone. Click here to see a list of national and local SIDS resources, including peer groups that offer grief counseling in Southern California. Or, visit our SIDS Risk Reduction page to find tips for protecting a child. You can also view a calendar of our upcoming events, volunteer with our group, or donate money online to help us support other families and spread the word to reduce the risk of SIDS.

If you don't see what you're looking for, or would like to ask a question, feel free to contact the San Diego Guild for Infant Survival directly.
