Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (or SIDS) is the fourth leading cause of infant mortality in California, and takes the lives of thousands of children worldwide every year. The exact causes of SIDS remain unknown, leaving parents, families, and caretakers to grieve without having the answers they need to get past the loss of a young child and move forward with their lives.
The San Diego Guild for Infant Survival works to comfort those who have been affected by SIDS, offer education and SIDS risk reduction tips to the public, and provide online and offline links to support and resources.
